The Hans Christian 48T "Emerald Cut" is back on the market after her new owner suffered an injury and will not be able to sail her as planned.
Owner says "Get this boat sold!"
"Emerald Cut" has had many improvements over the years including an upgraded, stainless steel, compression post with thru-bolted mast deck plates, custom dodger and bimini for increased visibility, and Espar heat. The Hans Christian 48T is a blue water cruising yacht that can take you to the far corners of the globe in comfort and style.
A note from the delivery captain...
Last night ( 18:15, 10/2/17). I delivered and anchored, with the owner, a 48 Hans Christian at the Jabin boat yard anchorage. I thought I would share my impressions and experience operating this vessel for four days from Pt. Jefferson, NY (LI) to Annapolis. Specifically, accommodations below are spacious, comfortable, ergonomically well designed (particularly while under sail in heavy weather) as there are plenty of places to "hang on and/brace." Overall, this vessel is very easy to sail, quite responsive, and very stable. I particularly liked the very responsive steering, it is very forgiving, with minimal under/oversteer characteristics. She went where you pointed her and did not wander or require the constant and nettlesome wheel management, required of many boats. For her size and weight (48 ft., 34 ton), she is very nimble, which I believe is, attributable to her very strong smooth running Yanmar diesel 100 hp motor and excellent steering characteristics. The center cockpit layout is outstanding, big and comfortable, safe and functional. I love the main boom gantry, as it eliminates that pesky boom swing when the main is stowed. The in-mast main furling works effortlessly and quickly., unlike many others I have used. Walking fore and aft is like a stroll in the park, none of the gymnastic physical movements required of other vessels. Cockpit Exit and egress is easy and safe. The aft deck is a wonderful and safe place to ride while underway. The Simrad autopilot is easy to use and is very responsive due to the "dial" setting as opposed to the usual 1 or 10-degree buttons, is much more precise and intuitive. I liked this vessel a lot! I have over 30,000 miles of blue water sailing experience and rate this, in spite of her being an older boat, as one of the easiest, most comfortable boats I have operated. She will make the new owner a safe, sturdy and dependable Yacht. Respectfully, Capt. Steve
